In more detail:
1.At the time of birth or recognition or adoption
The child of a Greek man or woman acquires Greek Citizenship at the time of birth.
A foreigner who was born without the marriage of his parents and was legally recognized as a Greek child if at that time is a minor.
A foreigner, who was adopted before becoming an adult, as the child of a Greek man or woman, becomes a Greek from the time of adoption.
2.Birth in Greece and acquisition of Citizenship under certain conditions
A child of foreigners born in Greece establishes the right to acquire Greek citizenship under the following conditions:
A. Upon registration in the first grade of Greek school of primary education
or a school of primary education that follows the compulsory Greek education and teaching program and by continuing to attend a Greek school class or school that follows the compulsory Greek education and teaching program at the time of the application’s submission
B. The previous continuous legal residence of one of his parents for at least five years before his birth with a final residence permit
3. With statement and application, due to attending nine grades of primary school and secondary education in Greece
A minor foreigner who resides permanently and legally in Greece establishes the right to acquire Greek citizenship due to attending a Greek school, “or to a school that follows the compulsory Greek education and teaching program,”
once he has successfully completed the attendance of nine classes of primary and secondary education. Kindergarten attendance is not counted. The successful completion of the required Studies is proven by a relevant certificate from the competent authority.
4. With statement and application, due to attending a school of six secondary classes in Greece
A minor foreigner who resides permanently and legally in Greece establishes the right to acquire Greek citizenship due to attending a Greek school, “or to a school that follows the compulsory Greek education and teaching program,”
once he has successfully completed the six classes of secondary education. The successful completion of the required Studies is proven by a relevant certificate from the competent authority.
5. With statement and application, due to studies at a Greek University
A foreigner who resides permanently and legally in Greece and is a graduate of a Department or University of Greek Highest Education Institution or Technological Education Institution, establishes the right to acquire Greek citizenship if he has a high school diploma of a Greek school in Greece “or from a school that follows the compulsory Greek education and teaching program in Greece”.
6. With naturalization
The foreigner who wishes to become a Greek citizen by naturalization is required to
1. be an adult at the time of filling the naturalization declaration
2. have a clean Criminal record and not be deported before submitting the naturalization application
3. reside legally in Greece for seven to twelve consecutive years prior to the submission of the naturalization application
4. have obtained after successful participation in the relevant Exams,
the Certificate of Adequacy of Greek Knowledge for Naturalization
A foreigner who holds a valid Residence permit, except temporary, and meets the formal requirements can apply for naturalization if he legally resides in Greece for 12 consecutive years before submitting the naturalization application.
